I am going to be leaving shortly and heading to North Carolina for the week. I hope to do some more field research, in addition to getting some writing in as well. I still expect to update the blog often during the week.

- I am the author of Fight As Long As Possible: The Battle of Newport Barracks, North Carolina, February 2, 1864 published in June 2010. I am currently in the process of working on two book projects. The first is editing the letters of Henry B. Rommel of the United States Navy who served off North Carolina during the Civil War. The expected release date is April 2012. The other project I am working on is entitled "The 26th North Carolina 1861-1865: A Regimental History." This book will be released in June of 2013.
